RING SIZING HELP
It is always advisable to have your ring sized professionally and in person at a jeweller's local to you, so you can be sure to get the perfect fit for your new treasures. However, I appreciate that this isn't always possible (especially in the current climate!), so here are some alternative solutions that you can use at home.
Make sure to measure your ring size in the evening, as this is when your fingers are largest, and do so when your hands are warm as your ring size will be smaller than usual when your hands are cold. If you're purchasing a ring with a wide band, you'll want to work out your actual ring size and then choose the next size up when purchasing to ensure the correct fit. You can find ring sizers here.
Ring Sizer
Ring sizers are inexpensive but oh-so-useful when it comes to finding out your own ring size. Simply pop it on the finger for which you'd like to purchase a ring, and then tighten it until it fits snugly but is still comfortable enough to slide on and off your finger when a little pressure is applied. The letters on the ring sizer will tell you exactly what your ring size is.
Measuring Method
This can be useful if you're not able to have your ring sized at a jeweller's or purchase a ring sizer, as shown.
For this method, you will need to cut out a thin strip of paper and wrap it round the finger your ring is intended for. Mark out where the end of the paper joins to make a full circle.
Check this twice, and then cut where the line is. You will now have a strip of paper measuring the circumference of your finger, which you then need to measure against a ruler, to the exact mm.
Once you have this strip of paper, measure it against a ruler to the exact mm, and check what ring size this corresponds with on a ring sizing chart, here.
